This workshop is designed
for those who are new to the mental health field, or for those seeking a better
understanding of the complexities that surround mental illness. Statistics show
that one in five people will experience a mental illness at some time in their life.
While common, understanding the issues around mental illness can be confusing and
overwhelming. This workshop will give participants a general overview of common
adult mental illnesses and their symptoms, causes and treatment. The issues related
to mental illness and the connections between substance abuse, suicide and self-injury
will also be addressed. |
